Around 500kg of ready paneer and 100kg of milk were destroyed after a surprise inspection at a dairy unit in Khaika village, Palwal district, Haryana, found the paneer unfit for consumption and hygiene conditions at the premises unsatisfactory.
The inspection was conducted by the Chief Minister Flying Squad (CMFS), Faridabad, along with the Food Safety Department and local police on Thursday.
Inspection Follows Adulteration Complaint
The inspection followed information received by the CMFS regarding the suspected use of adulterated or other substances during paneer production at Talim Dairy in Khaika village, which falls under the Bahin police station area.
A team led by DSP Vivek Chaudhary of the Chief Minister Flying Squad Faridabad conducted the inspection jointly with Palwal Food Safety Officer Ishwar Kumar and local police personnel.
During the inspection, paneer production was reportedly underway at the dairy. Officials found approximately 500kg of ready paneer at the premises.
The dairy operator, identified as Talim, a resident of Khaika village, was asked to produce the required licence and registration documents. Officials said the operator presented a valid FSSAI registration.
Paneer and Milk Destroyed at Site
Although the dairy had a valid FSSAI registration, officials determined that the ready paneer was unfit for consumption.
Following the inspection, the Food Safety Officer supervised the disposal of the products. A pit was dug at the premises with the assistance of a JCB, where approximately 500kg of paneer and 100kg of milk were destroyed and buried.
The action prevented the inspected products from entering the market and highlighted the role of food safety inspections in monitoring dairy processing units.

| Ready paneer | 500 kg |

Previous Synthetic Paneer Seizure in Gurgaon
The Palwal inspection comes shortly after another major enforcement action involving synthetic paneer in the Gurgaon region.
On September 11, authorities seized nearly 7,600kg of suspected synthetic paneer during overnight raids at several units located along the Gurgaon canal in Gondola village and at a unit in Nai.
The raids followed reports highlighting alleged production of synthetic or analogue paneer in the Gondola belt.
According to the reported findings, such products were allegedly being manufactured using combinations of skimmed milk, palm oil, vegetable fats and soya paste.
The earlier seizures and the latest Palwal inspection have drawn attention to food safety concerns surrounding paneer production and the importance of monitoring dairy processing facilities.
Food Safety Monitoring Remains Important
Paneer is widely consumed across India and is produced by both organised dairy companies and smaller dairy processing units. Maintaining hygiene, using permitted ingredients and following food safety requirements are important throughout the production process.
The Palwal operation also demonstrates that possession of food business registration does not eliminate the need for ongoing inspections and compliance monitoring. Food safety authorities can inspect facilities and take action when products are found unsuitable for consumption.
The destruction of the paneer and milk at the site ensured that the products identified during the inspection were not distributed for consumption.
With enforcement activity continuing across dairy-producing areas, inspections are expected to remain an important part of efforts to monitor food quality and address suspected adulteration in dairy products.
