Gyan Dairy Becomes First in India to Use Electric Vehicle for Milk Procurement


Lucknow: Gyan Dairy has introduced an Electric Vehicle (EV) for milk procurement, becoming the first dairy company in India to adopt this approach. The initiative aims to explore the potential of EVs in rural milk collection and transportation.

The development was shared by Dr. Jatinder Kumar Sood, Vice President at Gyan Dairy, in a LinkedIn post, noting the collaborative effort behind the rollout.

Team Effort and Collaboration

According to the announcement, several contributors played a role in the initiative:

  • Transporter Nirmal Yadav piloted the use of EVs in rural areas.
  • Montra Electric, led by team member Vivek, supported the technology integration.
  • Gyan Dairy’s internal team—including Shailendra, Dr. Mohit, Shivam Upadhyay, Shivakant Mishra, and Maneesh—ensured smooth operations, with special mention for Shivam and Shivakant.
  • The company’s management, led by Managing Director Anuj Agarwal and Managing Director Jai Agarwal, provided the necessary backing to initiate the project.
