Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has urged women in Madhira to lead the nation in dairy production under the Indira Mahila Dairy Scheme.
He said establishing a dairy was his lifelong dream, first planned in 2013 to provide two milch cows to 52,000 women in self-help groups. The plan was halted after state bifurcation, but has now been revived by the People’s Government.
The scheme provides two cows per beneficiary with full support for fodder, veterinary care, and milk procurement, aiming to ensure economic empowerment and self-reliance among women. Vikramarka said the initiative would boost rural income, strengthen the cooperative dairy network, and make Madhira a model hub for women-led dairy entrepreneurship in Telangana.
The programme also seeks to enhance milk production capacity and encourage community-based dairy clusters. Officials believe it will generate steady employment for women in villages. The scheme stands as a step toward inclusive and sustainable rural development in the state.
