West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL), popularly known as Purabi Dairy, has introduced Purabi Dana Supreme, a premium cattle feed aimed at improving milk productivity and promoting scientific feeding practices among dairy farmers across Assam.
The product was officially launched during an event in Khorisala, Barpeta district, attended by more than 250 dairy farmers, cooperative representatives and veterinary officials.
🐄 Premium Nutrition for High-Yielding Dairy Cattle
Developed under Purabi Dairy’s livestock nutrition brand Purabi Pashu Pushti, the new feed has been formulated according to BIS Type-I specifications.
Key nutritional features include:
🥛 Higher crude protein levels
🌾 Increased crude fat content
💊 Fortification with essential vitamins and minerals
🐄 Support for milk production, animal health and reproductive performance
The feed is specifically designed for high-yielding dairy breeds such as:

🐄 Jersey
🐄 Gir
These breeds require balanced nutrition to achieve their full production potential.

Speaking during the launch, WAMUL Managing Director Sameer Kumar Parida highlighted the importance of scientific feed management in modern dairy farming.
Purabi Dana Supreme aims to help farmers:

💵 INR 1,075 (US$12.50) per 25 kg bag
However, dairy farmers affiliated with WAMUL will receive the product at a significantly subsidised price of:
💰 INR 755 (US$8.80) per bag
The subsidy aims to make quality nutrition more accessible and encourage wider adoption of scientific feeding practices among cooperative members.
🏭 Expansion of Feed Manufacturing Capacity
Purabi Dairy has been steadily strengthening its feed infrastructure.
In 2022, with support from the Government of Assam under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), WAMUL recommissioned its Changsari cattle feed plant, featuring:
🏭 50 MT/day compound cattle feed capacity
🏭 25 MT/day bypass protein production facility
🏭 12 MT/day mineral mixture manufacturing facility
Since resuming operations, WAMUL has supplied approximately:
📦 23,000 metric tonnes of cattle feed
📦 175 metric tonnes of mineral mixture
to cooperative farmers at subsidised rates.
🌍 Strengthening Assam’s Dairy Ecosystem
Managed by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and marketed through North East Dairy and Foods Limited (NEDFL), Purabi Dairy has emerged as one of eastern India’s leading dairy cooperatives.
As of March 2026, the organisation supports:
